Our mission
Catwalk for Africa…AfroChic à la Mode mission is to open doors for many of the talented designers of African origins.
It is easy to forget that Africa is the mother of all life. The images we receive from the continent today are those of poverty, wars and hunger. The continent of Africa doesn’t decline itself in those words only.
With its fashion, we are reminded that Africa is colors, joy of life, happiness, originality and versatility.
African designers are resourceful and inspired. They have the honor of having access to vibrant and rich fabrics. From the streets of Harare, Dakar, Abidjan or Yaoundé, they create the most original and unique patterns.
The contribution of African fashion to the world retail market has been overlooked and the attention is long overdue.
With an event such as Catwalk for Africa…AfroChic à la Mode, we hope to draw the world’s attention to African fashion.
We hope to give the African garment industry the boost it needs so that modern production sites be built, so that African designers get the chance to compete in equality with their peers worldwide.
